Reliable funding is a huge factor for a successful youth service program, so YVC offers grants to our affiliates as often as we can. Read on to discover the grant opportunities made available to our affiliates each year.
In addition to affiliate grants, youth volunteers are also eligible to apply for the Don and Jean Sloan Scholarship.
- Don and Jean Sloan Scholarship: This $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a YVC youth volunteer who has demonstrated a passion for service. Applications are available from February 1 to April 30 each year.
- Persevering the Pandemic Project Grant: This grant was developed to support youth-created and youth-led service projects that promote essential workers, positive mental health, and perseverance during the pandemic. For the fourth year in a row, YVC’s International Youth Advisory Board served as the grant administrators, review panel, and decision makers! With a focus on serving our YVC communities, IYAB will select three recipients at $200, $200, and $100 to complete a youth-led service project, aimed at creating, promoting, or maintaining positivity and perseverance. Applications are being accepted from October 17, 2020 – December 1, 2020.
Be sure to check out information from past years to see what has been funded!
The Fine Print: Only active YVC affiliates in good standing are eligible for affiliate grants, meaning affiliate is not overdue on any fees or dues payments, data collection, or reports/timesheets for YVC or AmeriCorps (as applicable). All youth who have served with YVC are eligible for the Don and Jean Sloan Scholarship regardless of affiliate standing.
