2016 YVC Program Director of the Year: Cindy Rose

We are constantly finding inspiration in the amount of time, energy, and passion that Youth Volunteer Corps’ Program Directors pour into their local YVC programs. These committed adults cultivate atmospheres of support and enthusiasm for their Youth Volunteers and Team Leaders.

Each year, we are faced with the difficult decision of selecting just a single person to honor with the Program Director of the Year Award. Cindy Rose, Program Director of YVC of Cedar City, Utah, which is hosted by Five County Association of Governments, earned this top honor this year.

In the past program year, Cindy led 54 Youth Volunteers in completing a total of 3,425 hours of service. Aside from helping to coordinate 195 volunteer projects, she also invested her time in supervising projects, raising money, tracking data, overseeing Team Leaders, writing press releases and – above all – conveying warmth and attention to her Youth Volunteers.

“Through Cindy’s ongoing commitment, she communicates to her Team Leaders and Youth Volunteers that what they are doing to serve the community is truly making a difference,” said Tracy Hale, YVC Headquarters’ Chief Operating Officer. “The compassion that she shows to her youth, along with all of the hard work she puts in behind-the-scenes, leaves little room for doubt about her passion for this program.”

Congratulations, Cindy, and keep up the good work!
